Lighting Workshop: Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark | June 2-3 from 9am to 3pm
Led by experienced photographer (and our photography instructor), Chuck Arlund, this workshop takes a hands-on approach to teaching you the techniques you need to take your photography to the next level. Unlike other workshops, you won’t be handed a trigger and a scene to shoot. Instead, you’ll learn how to set up your own scenes and situations and control your flash for its greatest potential.
Throughout the workshop, you’ll gain insight into the fundamentals of flash photography, including proper placement and lighting patterns, as well as more advanced techniques to add drama to your portraits. You’ll also learn how to use a light meter for proper metering, all while honing your skills with manual flash control.
Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just starting out, this workshop is for you. All you need to bring is your camera and lenses, and if you have flashes, bring those too (though they’re not required). Movie Magic Makeup FX Summer Camp | June 5-9 from 9am to 12:30pm
Are you ready for an exciting, action-packed, and creative summer camp? Look no further than the Movie Magic Makeup Summer Camp at the Academy of Make Up Arts!
Campers will have a blast exploring the world of special effects makeup through interactive and hands-on training. Our expert instructor, Claire Mints, will teach students how to create realistic bruises, cuts, flesh wounds, and burns on themselves and each other. By the end of the week, our creative campers will put their imaginations and special effects skills to work designing and creating their very own characters and creatures!

This workshop is designed to complement our popular Movie Magic Makeup Camp, and is the perfect add-on for those looking to enhance their costume design skills. Whether you’re an aspiring costume designer, a professional looking to enhance your skills, or simply a fashion enthusiast, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to expand your knowledge and take your designs to the next level.
Our expert instructor, Melissa Durmon, works in the costume department for the Nashville Repertory Theater and teaches costuming at AMUA and Belmont University. Melissa has extensive experience in costume design and distressing techniques and will guide you through the process of creating authentic-looking distressed clothing for film, theater, or everyday wear.
In this workshop, you will learn how to use a variety of tools and techniques to create different types of distressing effects, including aging, fading, tearing, and more. Blood and Gore Workshop | July 10-14 from 9am to 5pm
