  1. Visit the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs website
  2. If you’ve not used your benefits before, you’ll need to create an account.
  3. Select “Apply for education benefits.”
  4. Answer the series of questions that guide you to the correct application.
  5. Once the VA processes your application, you’ll receive a certificate of eligibility (COE) or authorization form. This will take six to eight weeks.
  6. After you have applied to AMUA, been accepted, and paid the enrollment deposit, you must upload your Certificate of Eligibility to the student portal.
  7. You’ll sign a Veteran’s addendum and you’ll need to provide transcripts from ALL post-secondary schools you’ve attended.
  8. AMUA will automatically certify enrollment electronically with the VA each quarter as long as you have not reached any annual funding limits or exhausted your benefit.

You may consult with Admissions during the billing period for an estimate of your benefit coverage.
