Graduate of Makeup for TV & Film, Makeup Artist: Special Effects, and The Art of Wig & Hair Design

Carson originally enrolled only in our Makeup for TV & Film Program. While she was here, she and a handful of her classmates decided to stick around for a while. They also enrolled in our Special Effects and Wig & Hair Design Program.

Guess what? They’re all employed. Actually, they had jobs booked before they even graduated from AMUA! Here’s what Carson had to say.

Q: Why did you originally just want to do the beauty program?

A: I originally had my sights set only on the beauty program strictly due to my ignorance about what else was out there for makeup artists, if that makes sense.

Q: What sparked your interest in the SFX and Wig programs?

I had never thought about the other opportunities in this field until I was in class at AMUA and I could see what the other classes were producing first hand. I was very intrigued by all of the awesome projects I was seeing come out of Ben (Special Effects) and Michael’s (Wig & Hair Design) classes, and I was inspired to learn the trades myself to challenge my creative abilities.

Q: How have the three worked together for you?

A: Taking all three of the programs has definitely been very beneficial for me. I have more confidence in my work and I am not afraid of any job/project that might be thrown my way because I know that I have the skill set to make whatever needs to be done happen.

Q: Are you satisfied with the complete track? Do you feel like a triple threat in the industry?

A: I undoubtedly feel like a triple threat in this industry and I couldn’t be any more satisfied with AMUA and all of the knowledge I received there.
