Carson tells us, “After graduating from the special-effects program in December (2018), I set my sights on moving to the “Hollywood of the South”- Atlanta, Georgia. I entered into a SFX competition at the PMAC Expo, and it turned out to be really good exposure for my work! I ended up taking home first place, and got to network a good bit with other artist during the process.
Since that competition, I have been steadily trying to make new contacts in the area for bridal opportunities, SFX and wig/hair opportunities. I really want to get my name out there and have my feet planted on the ground here. Currently I have a few weddings coming up with another alumni, Kailey Kiser, who was in my same beauty class, and I’m booking other weddings throughout the rest of 2019.”
Carson also shares: “I feel that since I took all three programs at AMUA (Beauty, SFX, & Wig), I have endless areas to look for work. I’m not afraid to go after or take any opportunity, because I know that I have been provided a great education and the skills that I needed to do anything in this industry!”

We love hearing what alumni have been up to since they graduated from AMUA because they end up doing really amazing things!
Today we are sharing Carson Pack’s story, who just won a special effects makeup competition in Atlanta last week.
