Two recent grads selected to compete in L.A.!

brittany-goodrichabigail-minorAcademy of Make Up Arts would like to congratulate two of our recent grads for getting selected to compete in IMATS L.A.’s 2017 Battle of the Brushes! Brittany Goodrich of Franklin, Tennessee and Abbey Minor of Nashville, Tennessee have the huge honor of representing AMUA in the Beauty / Fantasy Competition in January.

IMATS is the make-up world’s biggest gathering to discuss, display and collect the best the industry has to offer.

The Battle of the Brushes competition is open to students of a recognized make-up school and to those who have graduated 12 months prior to the competition date. Though there are many applicants, only eight competitors are selected for this prestigious competition. Competitors’ work is seen not only by industry leaders attending the shows, but also by thousands of social-media users following the show.  Finalists also get a chance for international exposure by having their art featured in IMATS ad campaigns and show graphics. Additionally, the shows give competitors the chance to network in person with the pros doing the hiring. And the cash and prizes from participating exhibitors certainly don’t hurt!

Finalists and their models receive free passes for both days of IMATS. The theme for 2017 is ‘International Beauty’.

Brittany graduated from AMUA’s Advanced Makeup Artist Program in March of 2016; Abbey graduated from the same program in December of 2016.

Best of luck to you both!!
