With Spooky Season behind us, we now look forward to the remaining months of classes. That means final projects are about to begin and we’ll be wrapping up our season with some great shows around the Nashville area! November is also AMUA’s birthday month! And we’ll be celebrating big this year with our Mingle and Makeup Mixer!

Student Halloween Costume Contest
This year was our second annual Student Halloween Costume Contest! We love seeing our students get creative outside of the classroom – and what better time for us makeup artists than during Halloween? We had nine amazing entries this year and we’re so excited to share our winners with you!
In the Shop – Students at Work
- Pride and Prejudice with Hendersonville High School: Current student, Katie, is leading our wig team for this production! Jai, Alden, Reagan, and Kat are helping style wigs and will get to be backstage to assist with wig maintenance and old-age stage makeup. The show runs from November 1st to 5th.
- Into the Woods with Franklin Road Academy: Alumni Ryanne is leading the wig and makeup team for this production of Into the Woods! All of our current Wig I students are styling wigs for this production and Alden is hand-tying a custom beard for one character. See the show from November 9th through 11th!
- Hello Dolly with Belmont: We already know that about 20 wigs are needed for this Belmont production! Get ready to see a ton of our student work from November 16th through 19th.

Events at AMUA
- Mingle and Makeup: Celebrating 12 Years of AMUA Connections! Students, alumni, industry professionals, and friends of AMUA are all invited to our 12th birthday party! This industry mixer will be a fun night of guest speakers, drinks, networking, and concocting new ideas. Please RSVP here!
- Thanksgiving Break: No classes on November 23-24
- Hot Chocolate Break: Students! Wear your ugliest winter sweater and take a break from your final projects to cure your sweet tooth. December 1st at 6pm – more details to come.
- Graduation and Portfolio Review: Save the date for our Fall 2023 Graduation and Portfolio Review! Help us congratulate and bid good luck to our graduates, then see the work of graduates and current students alike! Come see what our students accomplish during their time here at the AMUA.
