1. Tell us a little about what you've been working on since your time at AMUA As soon as I graduated in December, I got hired in Knoxville to do a short film titled "Inside Out" and that launched my business to the next level. I was able to meet a lot of people and have been busy doing films every other weekend. I also got to work on two films for the Knoxville 54 Hour Film Festival and was extremely blessed to take home the Best Special Effects Award and be nominated for Best Makeup for both films I…

Since my time at AMUA, I have been working in all areas of makeup from Tv/Film, production, weddings, and teaching. My dream is to do big advertisement campaigns and commercial shoots, as well as major editorials. My advice that I would give to a new artist is that when you first get started, maintain a main income. There is so much to learn about this industry and blowing up overnight probably will not happen. So take your time, figure out which direction you want to go in, and stay educated. Tell us a little about what you've been doing since your time and AMUA Since my time at AMUA I have been busy working with local modeling agencies. It has been incredibly fun building relationships in an industry that I could not have imagined being a part of a year ago. Being relatively new to the makeup world, it has been extremely gratifying to see my work in the portfolios of models and photographers that I truly respect and even a few small publications. While the majority of my work has been fashion shoots and shows, I have also had…

You can see her in New Line Cinema’s Lights Out, Nickelodeon’s Haunted Hathaways, and newly released indie film called One Under the Sun. She’s done commercials for Dell and Samsung. Her management and PR team have…

Pro tip: Walk in Through the Back Door of the Film Industry

When I first moved to Nashville nearly 20 years ago, I shared a large 4 bedroom house with roommates who were all aspiring to work in Nashville's early boom of film and television. Specifically my roommate and friend John already had a decent foot in the door as a Production Manager. He had the beginnings of an impressive resume. The Production Manager, or PM for short, I soon learned was the position that held the keys for everyone else. The Production Manager of a film set is the person who assembles the crew. He or she hires everyone. The lighting…
